There are two sides to me: \u00a0the Reema in my everyday life today … and then there is the Reema that was from high school.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I hate when that shy, insecure side of me pops up. \u00a0I hate when I let myself become intimidated by \u00a0others. \u00a0I hate when I can’t coax the real me to stand up and stay a while!<\/p>\n

I wish my people from high school could tell the people who know me ( the real me) what I was like. \u00a0My today people wouldn’t believe it!<\/p>\n

So weird!<\/p>\n

Yesterday, I had a huge battle with Reema (the insecure one). \u00a0I was about to walk into a room full of people… into a whole new adventure… and I felt panicked. \u00a0The confident me tried to go into hiding.<\/p>\n

If I am hosting or in control of a event… I am in my element. \u00a0I realized that.
\nYesterday… I was coming out of my comfort zone, to a group of people who knew nothing about me.<\/p>\n

I suppose there is always a part of me that is scared of reliving high school. \u00a0It was so lonely. \u00a0I felt like much of that time I was watching from the outside… peeking through a window.<\/p>\n

I heard someone refer to high years… despite the fact that it is only 4 years… can be a life sentence. \u00a0They can be such long lonely years. \u00a0Yet high school is only 4 years. \u00a0 4 impactful years.<\/p>\n

I see it in my boys. \u00a0The two that are in high school are having 2 very different experiences, thus far.<\/p>\n

Sammy lives and breathes his friends. \u00a024 hours a day.<\/p>\n

Tyler… it’s his first year. \u00a0He is quieter. \u00a0Watchful. Holding back. \u00a0I keep holding my breathe. \u00a0I think he will fly. \u00a0He is a leader in his right. \u00a0Sanj was telling me how his hockey team boys are just drawn to him. \u00a0Yet… I think he is holding back… as he is comparing himself to his brother.<\/p>\n

One of the most important things I wanted my kids to have was confidence. \u00a0I want them to believe in themselves. \u00a0I want them to see the awesomeness that each of them are.<\/p>\n

We’ll see.<\/p>\n

I still fight with the two Reema’s all the time. \u00a0Obviously.<\/p>\n

I guess I am still scared that people won’t like me.
\nEveryone hates rejection.<\/p>\n

Don’t they?<\/p>\n

I’m back again.<\/p>\n

For now.<\/p>\n
