Therefore I was curious about the movie and was disappointed that it was released only in select theatres.  I never understood why one would put so much money into making a movie and then not release it everywhere.<\/p>\n<p>My girlfriend and I watched the DVD.  I was really impressed with the effort that went into keeping the movie real.  The little boys they picked did a great job!  As with any movie version, they had to leave out chunks of the story but it a good job of relating the book.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t know if I would have enjoyed the movie though, on its own without having read the book.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I enjoyed the book &#8220;The Kite Runner&#8221; alot.
