{"id":1721,"date":"2011-03-30T09:33:25","date_gmt":"2011-03-30T13:33:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/livinglovingbreathingboys.com\/?p=1721"},"modified":"2011-03-30T09:33:25","modified_gmt":"2011-03-30T13:33:25","slug":"history-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/livinglovingbreathingboys.com\/?p=1721","title":{"rendered":"History&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I mentioned that we saw &#8220;<em>Diary of a Wimpy Kid<\/em>&#8221; this last weekend&#8230; and loved the movie&#8230; yet here&#8217;s the thing, what&#8217;s up with making the Indian kid always the geeky, nerdy one?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/livinglovingbreathingboys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/IMG_0460.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-1726\" title=\"IMG_0460\" src=\"http:\/\/livinglovingbreathingboys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/IMG_0460-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"853\" srcset=\"http:\/\/livinglovingbreathingboys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/IMG_0460-768x1024.jpg 768w, http:\/\/livinglovingbreathingboys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/IMG_0460-225x300.jpg 225w, http:\/\/livinglovingbreathingboys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/IMG_0460.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">There is so much about the people of India&#8230; and yet Hollywood seems to miss that!!!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">My brother has been asked to be the Week Of Prayer speaker at the school that my mom went to in India. \u00a0It is the school that Adventist Indian parents all went to and at one time roomed together!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">My mom is going with him&#8230; a dream of hers, to return to India.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">How cool is that? \u00a0Since this is my mom&#8217;s 75th birthday&#8230; this trip is a great gift for her. \u00a0She hasn&#8217;t been back in 35 years. \u00a0Wow&#8230; eh?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I would LOVE to go. \u00a0I&#8217;ll be sure to buy a lotto ticket this weekend. \u00a0 Money wouldn&#8217;t be the only&#8230; rather what in the world will I do with the kiddies? \u00a0It is over the summer&#8230; \u00a0what a nuisance for Sanj. \u00a0Who knows? \u00a0Maybe a lotto win of a few thousand dollars will come \u00a0through&#8230; I can clear off those bills that keep me from being totally relaxed&#8230; and then check out India myself! and hire a &#8220;mom&#8221; for the boys for that time away.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Anyways, as this trip is wistfully on my mind, I have been googling India&#8230; looking at the map&#8230; etc. \u00a0I have to admit this would be so awesome. \u00a0I read lots of Indian authors. \u00a0I love stories from the mother country. \u00a0I would have my camera attached to me the whole time!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">My father still has his family, aside from his one sister, there. \u00a0I would love to really have the chance to meet them as an adult. \u00a0The last time I went to India, I was five years old. \u00a0I have random memories. \u00a0The best one was surprising my grandma&#8230; my dad&#8217;s mom. \u00a0She didn&#8217;t know we were coming. \u00a0Can you imagine the skip in her heart?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">We just arrived at her place, knocked at the door and stood there. \u00a0My dad pushed us forward, so when she opened the door, it was us, the kids she saw. \u00a0She has no idea who we were. \u00a0She looked so puzzled as we called her &#8220;Takuma&#8221; (meaning father&#8217;s mother). \u00a0Then she saw my father&#8230; and it is a cherished memory&#8230;her face that turned to pure joy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">She is long gone yet I wish I had a chance to know her&#8230; really know her.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I have a flock of uncles there and another aunt. \u00a0There is a host of cousins too. \u00a0It is so weird to know I have a whole family a world away. \u00a0I don&#8217;t know them at all. \u00a0And yet, they are family. \u00a0I am sure that we share many quirks.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">My dad went back to India&#8230; maybe 10 years ago&#8230; and there is this picture of his brothers and him. \u00a0They are all laying down&#8230; (why they were all laying down like this, I dunno&#8230; but..) \u00a0anyways&#8230; it is the weirdest picture&#8230; when you think of genetics&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">They were all in wife beater tanks, all laying the exact same way&#8230; one arm raised and tucked under their head. \u00a0Every one of them! \u00a0It was the way my dad always lay in bed&#8230;. and apparently so did all his brothers!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">It makes me wonder what other family traits there are&#8230; it makes me wonder how much of my quirks come from my dad and family.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I look a lot like my aunt&#8230; my dad&#8217;s sister. \u00a0Especially as I get older, it startles me, sometimes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">India&#8230; Family&#8230; A whole history that is a mystery to me.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I really hope that I get a chance to unravel some of those secrets!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I mentioned that we saw &#8220;Diary of a Wimpy Kid&#8221; this last weekend&#8230; and loved the movie&#8230; yet here&#8217;s the thing, what&#8217;s up with making the Indian kid always the geeky, nerdy one?
