{"id":1894,"date":"2011-05-23T12:12:04","date_gmt":"2011-05-23T16:12:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/livinglovingbreathingboys.com\/?p=1894"},"modified":"2011-05-23T13:37:25","modified_gmt":"2011-05-23T17:37:25","slug":"punished","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/livinglovingbreathingboys.com\/?p=1894","title":{"rendered":"Punished&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em>Have you noticed that some people, no matter how old they are, have the special gift of being mean? \u00a0Do you ever wonder why it is?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em><a href=\"http:\/\/livinglovingbreathingboys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/images.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1898\" title=\"images\" src=\"http:\/\/livinglovingbreathingboys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/images.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"375\" height=\"134\" srcset=\"http:\/\/livinglovingbreathingboys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/images.jpeg 375w, http:\/\/livinglovingbreathingboys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/images-300x107.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 375px) 100vw, 375px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Mean&#8230; with no filter at all. \u00a0The things that come out are ugly and hurtful. \u00a0 \u00a0Yet they are said. \u00a0There is no remorse, \u00a0just a steady stream of hurtful commentary never to be followed by an apology.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">It sucks when this person is a self righteous Christian&#8230; you know the kind&#8230; that puts themselves above everyone else. \u00a0They read their Bible, pray and go to church, faithfully. \u00a0And yet, their actions do not speak of Christ or His love.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I happen to have a couple of these kinds of people in my life. \u00a0So do my kids. \u00a0They, the boys, have been on the recieving end of this behavior. \u00a0And yet&#8230; when there is relations there, how do you escape it?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">My biggest issue is the arrogance of being a Christian. \u00a0It would seem that there is only one way to be a Christian. It is the right way.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">As I was complaining to my brother about these people in my life&#8230; he read me a quote from a book he was immersed in&#8230; I love it. \u00a0It summons up this person so clearly&#8230; and makes me realize that this is a kind of person&#8230; as their must be others there&#8230; for this author to sum up their character so well&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong>&#8220;Many are supposedly \u201cspiritually mature\u201d but remain infants, children, or teenagers emotionally. \u00a0They demonstrate little ability to process anger, sadness, or hurt. \u00a0They whine, complain, distance themselves, blame, and use sarcasm \u2013 like little children when they don\u2019t get their way. \u00a0Highly defensive to criticism or differences of opinion, they expect to be taken care of and often treat people as objects to meet their needs.<br \/>\nWhy? <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong><span style=\"color: #444444;\">The answer is what this book is about. \u00a0The roots of the problem lie in a faulty spirituality, stemming from a faulty biblical theology. \u00a0Many Christians have received helpful training in certain essential areas of discipleship, such as prayer, Bible study, worship discovery of the their spiritual gifts, or learning how to explain the gospel to someone else.<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong> <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong> <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em>The link between emotional health and spiritual maturity is a large, unexplored area of discipleship.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">(The Emotional Healthy Church: \u00a0A Strategy for Discipleship that Actually Changes Lives. \u00a0By Peter Scazzero. \u00a0Page 18. )<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\"><span style=\"font-style: normal;\">The \u00a0first paragraph describes this person\/s so perfect. \u00a0Wow. \u00a0So now what? \u00a0There are no answers as of yet. \u00a0So&#8230; I must ???<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\"><span style=\"font-style: normal;\">Sigh.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\"><span style=\"font-style: normal;\">I love that despite the fact that there are no answers of yet&#8230; there is a perfect description of this person&#8230; and it so clearly ties into their spirituality.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\"><span style=\"font-style: normal;\">What is the answer? \u00a0I don&#8217;t know. \u00a0I do know that we, as a family, tend to withdraw from these people. \u00a0We have a protective armor that goes up when in the company of these folks. \u00a0And yet.. when they attack&#8230; it still knocks our breath away.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\"><span style=\"font-style: normal;\">How will God judge these folks? \u00a0Guess that is my humanness&#8230; I want a consequence&#8230; for them.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong> <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong> <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong> <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: normal; font-style: normal;\">I guess the bottom line is that I want them to hurt&#8230; just the way they have and continue to hurt others&#8230; and yet&#8230; as I contemplate this, I can&#8217;t help but feel sorry for them. \u00a0It must stink to be such a ugly hateful person all the time. \u00a0It must stink that they ultimately are lonely people who are seeking attention and love, yet the consequence of being who they are causes people to withdraw and alienate themselves from the vileness of their being.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;\">I \u00a0often complain to Sanj, frustrated that this person\/s will no doubt be in heaven as God<\/span><span style=\"font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;\"> that <\/span><span style=\"font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;\">being God, will see past their ugliness. \u00a0Yet&#8230; then the punishment is the loneliness they must live out here on earth&#8230; and ultimately that is a huge price to pay&#8230; isn&#8217;t it?<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;\">It must really hurt to not be loved as you need and want to. \u00a0Yet it is simple, isn&#8217;t it?
