{"id":1973,"date":"2011-06-17T07:58:44","date_gmt":"2011-06-17T11:58:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/livinglovingbreathingboys.com\/?p=1973"},"modified":"2011-06-17T08:03:52","modified_gmt":"2011-06-17T12:03:52","slug":"vomitrocious-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/livinglovingbreathingboys.com\/?p=1973","title":{"rendered":"Gastroporesis&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em>How badly I have needed to write&#8230; and yet I didn&#8217;t have access to internet and WiFi for the last 4 days and I forgot to grab a notebook.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em><a href=\"http:\/\/livinglovingbreathingboys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/IMG_0323.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1976\" title=\"IMG_0323\" src=\"http:\/\/livinglovingbreathingboys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/IMG_0323-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"http:\/\/livinglovingbreathingboys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/IMG_0323-1024x768.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/livinglovingbreathingboys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/IMG_0323-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Maxwell, my sweet, easy going #4 child was admitted on Sunday afternoon&#8230; with major vomiting of anything within a few minutes of entering his tummy. \u00a0There were \u00a0IV stresses, harder due to his dehydrated state&#8230; and add that I HATE needles&#8230; I told him to squeeze my hand if he wanted to and yet ended up squeezing his hand so hard as they stuck him that I am not sure which hurt more! lol \u00a0There were the rounds of X-rays, the barium swallow, ultrasounds and blood work&#8230; \u00a0all which showed up normal (Thank you, Jesus).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/livinglovingbreathingboys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/IMG_0336.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1977\" title=\"IMG_0336\" src=\"http:\/\/livinglovingbreathingboys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/IMG_0336-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"http:\/\/livinglovingbreathingboys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/IMG_0336-1024x768.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/livinglovingbreathingboys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/IMG_0336-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><em>(Max, feeling at home, notice the socks on the floor already!)<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Then there was the admitting, the realization followed by the scamble of how how to make life continue for the other 5 boys as smoothly as possible. \u00a0There is the constant fear of what if? \u00a0There is the realization that a cot will be my bed for the night(s).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">When you have a family our size.. it really does take a village when life presents a bump in the road. \u00a0We are so blessed to be part of an amazing community&#8230; that goes above and beyond to lend a hand.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">It is humbling and overwhelming all together.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Each of my boys has a family that I know I can call and &#8220;farm them off&#8221; if needed&#8230; that is so reassuring knowing that they are happy to be off&#8230; especially on a school night. \u00a0The others came and hung out in the room with Max, playing Wii.. they had there. \u00a0I was usually kicking Sanj and the boys out every night as they battled each other on the Wii every night.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/livinglovingbreathingboys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/IMG_0342.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1978\" title=\"IMG_0342\" src=\"http:\/\/livinglovingbreathingboys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/IMG_0342-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"http:\/\/livinglovingbreathingboys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/IMG_0342-1024x768.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/livinglovingbreathingboys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/IMG_0342-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><em>(Brotherly bonding over a little Wii.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">It&#8217;s been a rough few days, I won&#8217;t lie. \u00a0I am not cut out to deal with vomit, period. \u00a0And yet, the last days I have been handling it ALOT! \u00a0My own stomach has been feeling off&#8230; but I realized it is just stressed with the constant handling of the vomit.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Max is a trooper. \u00a0He is brave&#8230; resilient and calm. \u00a0He is patient and tolerant. \u00a0I am so grateful of his calm nature in dealing with this&#8230; it has made it so much more bareable.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The verdict was still possibly reflux or viral gastroporesis&#8230; which means they are not sure what to do then let it run it&#8217;s course.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The nurses on the ped floor were fabulous. \u00a0They were so kind, gentle and reassuring. \u00a0They went out of their way to make our stay there alright. \u00a0They gave tips on what to ask the doctor or called him themselves.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Sigh.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">We are home. \u00a0Yesterday, Max had a really good day. \u00a0It felt so good to leave and come home.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">HOME!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The vomiting has started again&#8230; so we will see where we go&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and yet through all this God has showed His goodness through the notes of encouragement and the promise of prayers on behalf of Max.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Thank you!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>How badly I have needed to write&#8230; and yet I didn&#8217;t have access to internet and WiFi for the last 4 days and I forgot to grab a notebook.
