{"id":3625,"date":"2014-02-20T11:34:40","date_gmt":"2014-02-20T16:34:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/livinglovingbreathingboys.com\/?p=3625"},"modified":"2014-02-20T11:34:40","modified_gmt":"2014-02-20T16:34:40","slug":"another-world","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/livinglovingbreathingboys.com\/?p=3625","title":{"rendered":"Another World.."},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Yesterday I took my FIL to Toronto for his chemo appointment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It&#8217;s such an experience going to Princess Margaret (one of our cancer hospitals) with my FIL. \u00a0From the moment I walk in the door I feel a change in my being. \u00a0I feel like I&#8217;ve entered another country or planet. \u00a0There is such quietness. \u00a0There is the occasional crying out \u00a0of someone when it becomes too much. \u00a0There&#8217;s a lot of touching here, hand on hand, arm around a shoulder, a pat on the knee, there is comforting and encouraging \u00a0happening by way of touch. \u00a0There are many bald heads as you look around. \u00a0Yesterday as I looked at this gorgeous lady, maybe 6 feet and a bit with a body that \u2026 actually I don&#8217;t even know about the rest of her\u2026 her face captured me. \u00a0Her baldness seemed like a trophy, like she had pride that she was fighting and fighting hard. \u00a0Her baldness added to her attractiveness. \u00a0And her smile. \u00a0She radiated hope. \u00a0She mesmerized me.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There are those that are older and should be living their glory years. \u00a0Yet they are busy fighting for those years. \u00a0They are usually accompanied by their spouse or child. \u00a0They tend to shuffle when they walk. \u00a0They speak a little louder. \u00a0Their faces seem to say they don&#8217;t want it to end this way. \u00a0So they too, fight.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/livinglovingbreathingboys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/1653309_10152540068720828_2115058393_n.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3626\" alt=\"1653309_10152540068720828_2115058393_n\" src=\"http:\/\/livinglovingbreathingboys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/1653309_10152540068720828_2115058393_n.jpg\" width=\"720\" height=\"960\" srcset=\"http:\/\/livinglovingbreathingboys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/1653309_10152540068720828_2115058393_n.jpg 720w, http:\/\/livinglovingbreathingboys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/1653309_10152540068720828_2115058393_n-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I hope this is Sanj and I in 35+ years. \u00a0You could feel their love. \u00a0You could see their love. \u00a0It almost made my heart hurt. \u00a0Imagine their story.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Of course there are those that are so sick, that even moving is painful. \u00a0I don&#8217;t usually see them as they&#8217;d be admitted but occasionally I hear a cry out and it makes me shiver. It makes me utter a pray for them. \u00a0It makes me stop.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Yesterday this chatty and very happy man sat beside us. \u00a0He beat cancer. \u00a0He comes for his check up. \u00a0You could see that he loved this day. \u00a0He meets his buddy, \u00a0whom he befriended through his cancer journey. \u00a0They meet and they chat. It&#8217;s a social event. \u00a0He loves the staff as if they are family. \u00a0He&#8217;s in love with the hospital.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Time seems to stand still in this place. \u00a0You&#8217;re done when you&#8217;re done. \u00a0 My FIL&#8217;s levels were too low for chemo yesterday. \u00a0We have to come back. \u00a0Tuesday. \u00a0And then again, Wednesday. \u00a0Since dying isn&#8217;t an option, we fight. \u00a0They help us fight.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This place\u2026 it&#8217;s a world all unto itself.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday I took my FIL to Toronto for his chemo appointment.
