  I was home with the 2 youngest boys.  A rarity on the weekend. Sanj was off doing the hockey thing.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n
I had so much I wanted to accomplish.  I felt motivated and good.<\/span><\/div>\n
Then the phone rang.<\/span><\/div>\n
It’s long distance.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n
I answered to hear the voice of a cherished friend.<\/span><\/div>\n
She stayed home from church.<\/span><\/div>\n
We talked.  And talked.  And talked.<\/span><\/div>\n
3 hours later we said bye.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n
It was so good.<\/span><\/div>\n
It was just what I needed.<\/span><\/div>\n
Reconnection.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/span>There is something about a friend who can finish your sentences.<\/span><\/div>\n
There is something about a friend who knows something is wrong or right before a hello.<\/span><\/div>\n
There is something about a friend who doesn’t require maintenance.<\/span><\/div>\n
There is something about those friendships that last the test of time and distance.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n
I am blessed to have those kinds of friends.<\/span><\/div>\n
She has all boys too.<\/span><\/div>\n
We were talking about what happens if our daughter-in-laws didn’t like us.<\/span><\/div>\n
(Hard to imagine… I know! lol)<\/span><\/div>\n
We were talking about the difference with daughters and mothers.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n
Suddenly I realized that it was all OK… because we would have each other.<\/span><\/div>\n
I am not sure where our husbands are in this phase of life.<\/span><\/div>\n
We have always talked about our rocking chair days… we know we will be together…<\/span><\/div>\n
reminiscing… my girlfriends and I.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n
I guess maybe our husbands are dead. <\/span><\/div>\n
Or maybe golfing.<\/span><\/div>\n
I am never sure.<\/span><\/div>\n
This disturbs Sanj a bit.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n
Friends… good friends … they make my world go around.<\/span><\/div>\n

Obviously the picture has nothing to do with this blog… but he sure is a cutie… and I love mozzarella sticks!<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
