{"id":3267,"date":"2013-06-28T08:40:33","date_gmt":"2013-06-28T12:40:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/livinglovingbreathingboys.com\/?p=3267"},"modified":"2013-06-28T08:56:47","modified_gmt":"2013-06-28T12:56:47","slug":"fil","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/livinglovingbreathingboys.com\/?p=3267","title":{"rendered":"FIL"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s been 10 days since our lives were normal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">10 days ago was my father-in-law&#8217;s birthday. \u00a0It was a day he spent in the hospital bed. \u00a0He hasn&#8217;t left that bed since. \u00a0He has leukemia. Just like that. Father&#8217;s Day he was happy and healthy on the outside. \u00a0Two days later he wasn&#8217;t.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I&#8217;m not sure that he will leave the hospital, as it all looks very grim right now. \u00a0He&#8217;s 80 plus years old and has had quite the life.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">My relationship with my inlaws has been an interesting one, to say the least.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Yet over the years I have learned to admire so much about my father in law.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>(From here on out I&#8217;ll be abbreviating father in law with \u00a0FIL).<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>*** He has such a incredible devote love for his family. \u00a0He will do anything, literally in his power for those he loves.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>My FIL had polio as a young boy causing him to have some crippling and deformation. \u00a0His father died at a young age and shortly after, he was kicked out of his house saying he was a burden. ( I just can&#8217;t image this!!!) He lived in a beggar&#8217;s home for a while until one day a missionary saw and took him under his wing and sent him to the Adventish boarding school where he was\u00a0educated.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Where bitterness and resentment my have developed, my FIL simply took the higher road that went back and educated each of his siblings. \u00a0Today 3 out of his 6 siblings are chartered accountants. \u00a0Over this time, he sent and continued to send money to educate his nieces and nephews in India, making sure that each of them was taken care of and well educated.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I can&#8217;t help but think of Joseph in the Bible and how despite what his family did to him, he took the higher road and helped them when they need him most.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/livinglovingbreathingboys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/DSC_0195.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3276\" alt=\"DSC_0195\" src=\"http:\/\/livinglovingbreathingboys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/DSC_0195.jpg\" width=\"150\" height=\"100\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>***My FIL is a man that loves his God but doesn&#8217;t put it in your face. \u00a0He lives his faith. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>I think he so appreciates the hope we have in Christ. \u00a0He understands that gift for what it is, especially since he grew up Hindu. \u00a0I love his gentle ways, his words of wisdom and how he just wants so much for us. \u00a0He wants more for us then he had.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>*** My FIL is not a judging person. \u00a0I love that he trys to accept all people just as they are.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>I think that when you come from where he came from, he understands there are so many paths that one can take. \u00a0He understands that gift he was given by the missionary, by God&#8230; and passed that gift on 10 fold.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>***Why complain, it doesn&#8217;t benefit you. \u00a0I know that over the years, my FIL has had many ailments and challenges with his health. \u00a0 Yet we never would hear him complain.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>*** Age is just a number. \u00a0He never let his physical age make him old. \u00a0He has kept busy with just as much as before he retired.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If you walk to the doorway of my FIL&#8217;s house, you can&#8217;t help but notice all the gardens. \u00a0He is always fiddling with tools in the garage. \u00a0He still volunteers for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reachcanada.org\">REACH CANADA<\/a>. \u00a0He is active with yoga every \u00a0morning&#8230; standing on his head longer than folks half his age.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">***<strong>When you are wrong or wronged someone, say sorry.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I love this about my FIL. \u00a0I love this about my own husband. \u00a0He will say sorry when he is wrong or been hurtful. \u00a0I also love the my FIL for being humble enough to do this.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>*** My own husband feels deeply. \u00a0His heart is huge. \u00a0This he inherited from his dad. \u00a0They both love BIG.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I could write a long time about my FIL. \u00a0He is such a good person and I am so glad that my children stand a chance of inheriting many of his qualities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I am glad that I have his love and have been blessed to call him Dad. \u00a0He&#8217;s been a good dad&#8230; and he leaves his imprint on many lives.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s been 10 days since our lives were normal. 10 days ago was my father-in-law&#8217;s birthday. \u00a0It was a day he spent in the hospital bed. \u00a0He hasn&#8217;t left that bed since. \u00a0He has leukemia.
